Re: Status of "Dinosaurs That Never Were"?

1. How long before DTNW gets back from the printers? 2. What is your estimate on how long till it hits the stores? Here's the latest news: 1. It has shipped from the printer. I mailed all pre-orders earlier today. 2. It still has to make it from our warehouse to the distributors and then to the ret...

That's weird. The file must have been lost when we updated the forums. I've uploaded it again -- you can find it here:

I didn't ink this before scanning it, and it's pretty obvious. You know, the first thing I noticed when I saw this (even before I read the post) was the scratchy quality to the lines. I thought, "Wow, that's cool... makes it a little rougher and more dangerous." I like that look. It didn'...

I know that the colors on the webstie are correct and why they are supposed to be weird. It's just that i would see how the printer might accidentally miscolor a part of the cover. That's all. Tim Yeah, I see what you mean. I've had covers before where they had the ink slightly off so the colors we...

So what was wrong with the cover? taking one look at the cover for 'Dinos that never were' and my guess would be incorrect coloring (I mean just look at the mutli-'ceratops'-like dino). Tim The colors as shown on the web site are OK -- the wacky colors are supposed to help get across, "Hey, th...

I was just about to post an update today! The printer finished it, but made a mistake on the cover. To make a long story short, they had to reprint the covers. That is currently underway. I hope to have copies available for filling online/mail orders within 2 weeks tops; the book should make its way...

That's a cool idea. It might be hard to implement... you'd have to have some serious weather rules! And a good set of "evolution rules" to determine how creatures adapt. Maybe you could explain it with different gods, each representing an aspect of humanity that is personified in weather. ...

Mike Ferguson, who wrote the upcoming Complete Guide to Liches, loves jungle adventures. He kept trying to persuade me to do a Jungle Adventure Guide. He told me he played a long-term campaign featuring yuan-ti in a rain forest/lost jungle sort of setting. I don't know the rest of the details, but I...

Over here they showed a Dipotopia miniseries then did an extended series, but it bombed. Personally, I didn't like it. Aside from the dinosaurs, the acting sucked and the plot seemed aimed at 10-year-olds. Not that the books are aimed at adults, but they sure seemed to do a better job of reaching bo...

Those are some cool ideas. If I ever kill off all the PCs in my campaign, maybe I'll have them reanimated as something. Did you ever read the comic Rogue Trooper? It was about these genetically engineered supersoldiers whose personalities and minds could be transferred to computer chips when they di...

That is pretty cool. I'm doing something similar but it doesn't go so far as to include the PCs history or past villains. Among the treasure the PCs have been finding lately are carved, stylized dwarven heads. The first one they found was ignored as worthless (it's nonmagical and basically just a 2&...

That's an interesting idea. Does WotC's upcoming Ghostwalk cover any of that? I know it lets you run campaigns with ghost characters. Also, I think the premise of Dungeonworld (from Fast Forward) is that it's an alternate plane that characters go to when they die. A book exploring these in more deta...

Very keen observation. If you look in the front of the Cretasus Adventure Guide, you'll see the raptor book listed as "Dino Hunter's Guide to Velociraptors." That was the original title... but I later changed it to lay the foundation for the CG series. "Dino Hunter's Guide to D...

The characters are the barbarian decendents of a colony ship that crashed on a planet several hundred years ago. I lived in California for three years and somehow never made it to Vernal, but I always wanted to go. It sounds like a fun trip. I've seen pictures of the bad dinosaur statues before... and yes, they ARE bad! But at least they don't have mullets. :)
