does anyone have any thoughts on the patron spells i created?
its kind of hard to tell how to fit them into the scheme.
i know balance is less of an issue in this genre, but i dont want the wizards who choose gruuhm to feel cheated, nor do i want them to be stupidly overpowered.

Re: submitted for your review, a new patron
First of all I love the work you did, it's a great theme! The Patron Taints are particularly creative :-) I'm probably going to introduce this in my next game. I had one question and one suggestion: 1) Stolen breath: Gruuhm abhors elemental air, and demands that his minion give up their own breath ...

Re: mercurial magic
3) allowing each wizard or elf to roll 3 mercurial effects and choose one that applies to every spell he casts. A fun spin on this is to have the Player make the percentile roll, but then have the option of "flip-flopping" the result. So, if they rolled 69, for example, they could take th...

mercurial magic
i like the idea behind unique manifestations for each spell for each wizard. however. some of the results from the mercurial magic table can be just plain outrageous. i mean... i KNOW magic is supposed to be unpredictable... but my player looked at me like i was crazy when i told him that "yes....

index?
why is there no index in the DCC core rules? a book as thick as that REALLY needs one. is there one going to be worked up so i can tack it to the inside of my book?

Re: magic wands??
well thats all very well and good. but you should NOT specifically reference the "fourth level spell 'magic wand'" if you have no intention of including said spell.

magic wands??
the DCC book states that magic wands are created by casters of at least level 7 using the 4th level spell 'magic wand' (kindof like magic staff and sword magic etc i presume) i cannot find the 'magic wand' spell anywhere, certainly isnt where is would logically tucked away in the 4th level wizard sp...

Re: dragonmech, and e6 (resurrected)
my dragonmech game has been taking a back seat to 4th ed D&D for awhile but some nice folks have done a lot of work compiling a sort of e6 SRD. they've boiled down the srd to mostly just what applies to e6 and posted in in wiki format and a free downloadable document. for those of you who liked ...

possible eratta? scythe and shroud - stream of vomit
the 'stream of vomit' power (on pg 50 i think?) is listed as being reliable, but also has a miss effect. was this intentional? typically reliable powers do nothing on a miss but are not expended.

scythe and shroud: feats questions
im a bit puzzled by the attuned proficiency feat , is grants proficiency in light shields (which the deatharden has already) and heavy shields when properly attuned. could the deathwarden not just take heavy shield proficiency? or is the intent to allow the non-strength focused deathwarden the abili...

Re: balance concern... assasin
So your assumption #3 is incorrect - the assassin's Intelligence modifier sets an upper limit. Note that the death of the target also limits the number of points you can accumulate against them. AHHHHH.... theres the rub. ok i see that now. the sinewy assasin will likely not have the highest intmod...

balance concern... assasin
ok, let me make sure i understand correctly... 1) most assasin attacks grant one or more study points. 2) study points grant an escalating power bonus to both hit and damage to the target you are studying when using most any attack 3) there are no upper limits to study points, simply repeating the p...

Re: Trident: Legion Gargantuan Clockwork mech (full stats)
This was just a design that I thought would look cool, and would really scare opponents on a charge. The body looks like a huge triangular wedge, with a central flat slope, and two angled slopes to the sides each with a ball mounted lance in it. And here are Stats. reminds me of those robot wars st...

Re: Boulder: Elven Colossal III mech (full stats)
is not the wand of burning hands a bit of a waste on such a large mech? if designed as anti infanty it would make more sense for it to be mounted on the legs, perhaps with a 360 degree pivot mount? another interesting option for such a tall mech would be for it to have a wand of stinking cloud mount...

Re: WHAT IF (an idea for a dragonmech plot)
i got the impression from reading the core dragonmech book that while the moon is probably always visible (due to light reflection from the planet maybe?) is still has its traditional phases. but i suppose that's up to the DM. i think it'd be pretty heinous when dealing with lycanthropes if EVERY ni...

WHAT IF (an idea for a dragonmech plot)
WHAT IF the disease/curse that causes lycanthropy is of lunar origin? After all, the moon plays a major part in lycanthrope lives, moreso now that it is closer to the earth. As a lunar influence, perhaps the lycanthropy disease has a sort of subtle intelligence, like the disease which creates the 's...

Re: In One Sentence, Describe DragonMech
from wikipedia: Mecha, also known as meka or mechs, are walking vehicles controlled by a pilot, often appearing in science fiction or other genres involving a fantastic or futuristic element. Mecha are generally, though not necessarily, bipedal. In most fiction in which they appear, mecha are war ma...

well the idea was not to apply it to existing lunar monsters, but to apply the template to other, perhaps more normal, creatures to make them more "lunar"

well, you have a point with regards to the realism factor of it all. in my games what i have primarily done is focus on things like salvage value of items. coins are used of course, since many of the modules i use reward them, but my justification is that metel (even among elves) has an intrinsic va...
