Re: Thieves'/Halflings Luck and (again!) Mighty Deeds of Arm

For me a halfing with a 18 can lift just as much as a ogre with a 18.

At some point I just shrug and smile and say It's a Game. It doesn't have to make sense or be realistic.

It's a Game.

Do what works for you.

Re: clarification on Mighty Deeds of Arms

After the 3rd or 4th game with four warriors as the primary group they started to use Might Deed every single swing. Mostly to disarm, trip and in general get some major advantage. Only the (Tank) of the group was fighting defensively. Frankly it got annoying.Slowed the game down and lead to stupid a...

Re: clarification on Mighty Deeds of Arms

The official answer I think is: There is no penalty for trying and failing a Deed. Indeed it is meant to be something that occurs every single swing of a warrior. That said, there are many with house rules that do other things. I have seen house rules for the following- Attempting a Deed lowers the ...

Geez you guys! Don't know Conan much at all huh?

OBVIOUSLY Conan was a pc warrior in DM Howard's DCCRPG "Savage Sword" Game. He used Crawl #1 Everyone can do Thief skills options so Thief was removed as a Class.

Re: How Far Ahead Do You Plan Your Campaign?

I'm DAMN lucky if I have fully read the store bought adventure I'm running and more often than not my own homemade adventures are scrawled out on one page of notes. I might go by them or I might not. I have a HUGE book that I slam full of maps, npc's,adventure ideas, traps, names for everything from In...

Re: Deed actions that would insta-kill an enemy

Necropost! I just wanted to add for people to not forget this isn't a video game. You are not bound by strict laws that things only function one way. If the warrior did a special attack to shove someone into a pit it could indeed work. Perhaps even a second time! 2 cultists tumble away into certain ...

Re: Disappointed with the FLGS in regards to DCC RPG.

Have not bought a book from a bookstore or Game Store since the late 1990's. I do check them out but not one has been worth it. More than not they are dirty, have rude uninterested employees and a very small selection. The worst ones around here sell at a HUGE markup or sell used books as new. The la...

Re: Why is Cthulhu Neutral?

One day last summer I was outside picking up all the crud that had been blown into my yard. Back and forth across the yard I went just picking up all the trash and branches ect that had blown in. After a bit my wife who was sitting on the front steps said" Those ants really hate you!". I s...

Re: Streamlined adventurer spending

I ask what kind of time there are wanting to have in town and how many wealth they are willing to spend. The Min per level is the absolute minimum they can spend for the effect but the % still must be meet. This lets us skip past the shopping and lets them have basic gear as they want without keeping...

Thereby leading at least one DCC game to include a Wizard crying and wailing "I never learned to read!" just like Adam Sandler in 50 first dates.

You will always remember this as the day you almost caught..

So I was thinking of what type of game I am going to run with DCC and something came to mind that I always wanted to run but never did. A Pirate or at least Nautical campaign. Does DCC come with any Nautical rules or advice? How do you guys see that theme fitting in with swords and sorcery type play...
